What is and isn’t kept
- Pages are copied as they appear, including their text, images and annotations.
- Digital signatures are not valid in the merged file. Merging changes the document, so any signature no longer verifies.
- Fillable form fields may stop working, and fields with the same name in different files can conflict.
- Bookmarks (the outline), document-level attachments, scripts, accessibility tags and the original document properties are not carried over.
- Password-protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be merged here. Remove the protection first in a PDF app you trust.
- Very large or unusual PDFs can exceed what a phone or browser can hold in memory.
